This piece is inspired by George Breitner’s painting entitled ‘The Red Kimono’.

The flowing lines of the kimono are contrasted against the strong black lines of the sitter’s environment. This has been reflected in the twisting of the ruby and onyx beads, and the geometric lines within the pendant. The white and blue detailing on the kimono are represented by hand-carved turquoise stones and 81 glittering diamonds.
